Course Overview
Soil-based crop farming is the foundation of traditional agriculture. This module introduces you to land preparation, crop selection, planting schedules, irrigation, and soil health — everything needed to start a productive farm from the ground up.
You'll learn how to match crop choices to your climate, available land, labor capacity, and production costs. The module includes a hands-on use case: launching a small-acre vegetable farm for farmers' markets and restaurants.
You'll develop a 12-month production calendar, identify high-demand crops, estimate input costs, and build a basic market plan.
